Lancashire Derby At Bloomfield Road
Fixture | Blackpool vs Morecambe
Date | 4 March 2017
Venue | Bloomfield Road
After three consecutive 2-2 draws, Blackpool look to adjust the fine margins and get back to winning ways in a Lancashire derby with Morecambe.
Pool’s 14 draws are a League Two high, while Gary Bowyer’s men boast an impressive goal difference and only three sides have lost less games this season.
However, they remain eight points from the play-off place and in need of starting another important week with three points.
Morecambe arrive in high spirits however, having lost just one of their previous 11 matches, and are sat above The Seasiders in the table.
Blackpool left it late to claim a point against Barnet, having come from two goals down. The shoe was on the other foot at Exeter City last weekend, as Pool let a 2-0 lead slip to drew in Devon.
Morecambe claimed a creditable point at Portsmouth in mid-week, after beating Grimsby Town on home soil the previous Saturday. The Shrimps have a better away record too, having won seven times on the road.
Tom Aldred returns from suspension for The Seasiders, having missed the previous two games. Sam Slocombe will once again sit out through injury, while Neil Danns and Jim McAlister remain out.
Morecambe will be without suspended skipper Michael Rose, who picked up his tenth booking of the season on Tuesday. Aaron Wildig also picked up a knock, but Peter Murphy is back in contention.
