Pool Head To Home Park
Fixture | Plymouth Argyle vs Blackpool
Date | 7 March 2017
Venue | Home Park
Back-to-back victories are the aim for Blackpool, who have achieved that feat just twice this season, as they head to high-flying Plymouth Argyle.
The Seasiders got back to winning ways against Morecambe on Saturday and have an opportunity to gain ground on the leading pack in one of just two League Two matches tonight.
Victory would take Gary Bowyer’s side to within four points of the play-offs and get them off to a good start in the first of three crucial fixtures.
Plymouth, the early-season pace setters, have shown longevity to remain in the top three, but have enjoyed mixed form at Home Park in recent weeks.
Blackpool put three past Morecambe on their way to a crucial victory at the weekend. Away from home The Seasiders drew with Exeter City last time out, were beaten at Portsmouth but thrashed Carlisle United at Brunton Park.
Saturday’s victory over Carlisle was Plymouth’s first in five matches. On home soil they’ve been beaten by Leyton Orient and Notts County recent, and drew with Hartlepool United and Luton Town on the road.
Jamille Matt will once again face a late fitness test pre-match. Kyle Vassell misses out with a broken foot, while Sam Slocombe and Jim McAlister remain sidelined.
Jakub Sokolik is Plymouth’s main doubt after coming off at half-time with a groin injury on Saturday. Yann Songo’o is expected to come into the defence should Sokolik be fit.
