Player Of The Month: March 2017

30 March 2017

Lyness, Payne, Potts Or Cullen?

In a month where Blackpool have taken 16 points from 18 available, plenty have stood out in tangerine, making Player of the Month a tough one to call.

Dean Lyness, Jack Payne, Brad Potts and Mark Cullen have made the shortlist for the outstanding performers during the month of March.

Lyness has taken his chance in Sam Slocombe’s absence impressively well, keeping three clean sheets on the spin and making vital saves in victories over Newport County and Hartlepool United.

Blackpool’s upturn in results has coincided with the return of Payne, who has started every game in March, put his foot on the ball and got Blackpool on the front foot.

Potts has had a big hand in Pool’s success this month, netting against Morecambe and Plymouth Argyle and providing an assist in each of those games too.

Finally, Cullen has been back to his best this month, bagging in four of the six matches, and showing his composure from the penalty spot, netting from 12 yards against Stevenage and Newport.
