Potts: Back It Up At Plymouth

5 March 2017

Midfielder Looking For Another Win

Brad Potts insists Blackpool must back up Saturday’s victory with another three points at Plymouth Argyle on Tuesday.

The midfielder made one and scored another as Pool got back to winning ways against Morecambe at Bloomfield Road.

Potts is already moving on from the victory and looking for another positive result at Home Park.

“If we want to give ourselves a chance of getting into the play-offs we need to back it up on Tuesday,” he said. “In the past we’ve won games but not kicked on.

“We knew if we didn’t win the game (on Saturday) our play-off chances would decrease quite a lot, so the lads were delighted.

“We knew we had to get three points on the board after recent results, being 2-0 up a few times and giving it away.”

Potts’ second-half finish was his 11th of the season, but he believes it should have been number 12.

“I’m claiming the first goal, it was nowhere near him,” he joked. “I think it’s gone down as Cullen’s which I’m not happy about, but I’ll take scoring the second.

“I felt on the break there was more goals to be scored and thankfully I scored the second to give us a bit of breathing space.

“I was just dying for him (Kelvin Mellor) to play us the ball, I had the run on my midfielder and just focused on hitting the target,” he added.
