Defender On Luton Tie
With the first job out the way by achieving a play-off place, Tom Aldred has quickly moved on to focussing on achieving promotion.
The Seasiders face Luton Town over two legs and their no-nonsense defender is fully aware of the task ahead.
“What we’ve achieved this season goes into a two to three match season,” he said. “We’ve dealt with getting into the play-offs and now it’s about achieving what we want to do in the play-offs.
“We play Luton over two legs, it’s a tough tie, we all know that, we’ve had two tough games against them but we’re confident we can beat them home and away.”
Aldred has been part of a defence which has kept 15 clean sheets this season and paid tribute to Kelvin Mellor and Clark Robertson ahead of the play-offs.
“Kelvin’s been a brilliant signing. He’s came in and not just defended brilliantly, but contributed offensively so he’s been brilliant to play next to.
“I’ve played so many games with ‘Clarky’ now and the experience we’ve had together has been fantastic.
“We know how each other work and compliment each other well with our different styles of play,” he added.
