Defender On Verge Of 100th Game For Blackpool
Tom Aldred looks set to make his 100th appearance for Blackpool against Leyton Orient tomorrow.
The defender, who moved to Bloomfield Road from Accrington Stanley in January 2015, has started 99 games in all competitions for the club and hopes to cap off the milestone by securing a place in the play-offs.
"It's gone quite fast at times and slow at other times. It's good to get to that milestone because I've never done it before at any other club." said Aldred, who missed out on doing similar at his former club by five games.
"It's safe to say there's been ups and downs and lots of different emotions in the different games, but to confirm ourselves in the play-offs would be the perfect way to hit 100."
The centre-back has been part of a defence that has kept 15 clean sheets in the league to date, helped by the fact that he played with Clark Robertson and Will Aimson last season.
"Myself and Clark have built up a good partnership and that takes time and a lot of games together, Will's also slotted in as well when he's played and whoever plays, we feel like we've got a good partnership. Clean sheets have been good for us to build on."
Blackpool go into the match tomorrow, which gets underway at the later time of 5.30pm, knowing that results elsewhere don't matter as long as three points are secured.
"We've got just focus on us, we look after ourselves like you do in football. If we can get the three points, we know we'll be in the play-offs."
