Striker After Memorable Kenilworth Road Night
An emotional Armand Gnanduillet was overjoyed to play his part and help guide Blackpool to Wembley on Thursday evening.
The striker came off the bench to bring The Seasiders level on aggregate against Luton Town, before Kelvin Mellor forced the crucial winner.
Speaking post-match, Gnanduillet was naturally on cloud nine.
“That’s why football is the beautiful game because we were 3-1 down and came back and we’re going to Wembley,” he said.
“I think we deserve to go to Wembley because we made a good season. We have to celebrate it properly but we won’t forget to prepare properly.
“We’ve done all this to get there but hopefully we’ll win there to be promoted to League One.”
The striker met Mark Cullen’s wonderfully clipped cross to head beyond Stuart Moore – his first goal for the club since December.
“I’m happy to score a crucial goal like this. I’ve done my job so it’s not a big deal but I thought we played very well.
“It was a tough game against a good team, they beat us twice in the league, but in the play-offs everyone can beat everyone.
“This year has been quite difficult for me so when you have the chance to play you have to take it. We’re going to Wembley, for me it’s a beautiful thing so I’m happy,” he added.
