Brad Potts described opening the scoring at Wembley as an “unbelievable feeling” as Blackpool secured promotion back to League One on Sunday.
The midfielder stroked home the opener just three minutes in at the national stadium on a memorable afternoon for The Seasiders.
“I dreamt of it the night before, to score a goal at Wembley,” he admitted. “To actually do it was an unbelievable feeling but more importantly we won the game and got promoted so I’m over the moon.
“It’s been quite a while since I scored, I think it was Plymouth away, so I’m delighted.”
Potts played a key part in Pool’s promotion, hitting 13 goals – level with Kyle Vassell and Mark Cullen at the top of the charts – in what was his second season at Bloomfield Road.
Having played in the third tier with Blackpool previously, the 22-year-old insists they must build on the momentum the play-offs have provided.
“We’ve had a great season, getting promoted, and we know we’ve got to kick on in League One next season.
“Hopefully we can do what we did this season which was have a right good go,” he added.
