Robertson Relishing Wembley Bow

24 May 2017

Defender Looking Forward To Sunday

Blackpool defender Clark Robertson is relishing the opportunity to make his first appearance at Wembley on Sunday, as Blackpool take on Exeter City in the League Two Play-Off Final.

The Scot has previous experience of playing on such a stage with his former side Aberdeen at Hampden Park, but believes walking out onto the Wembley pitch will top that.

“They say it’s the home of football,” said Robertson. “So to walk out there will be a great feeling and it’ll be a great occasion for me and the team. It’s one that we’re all looking forward to."

Blackpool enter the match as the slight underdogs, as The Grecians finished a point ahead of Pool in the table, however Robertson explained how the label doesn't faze them.

“It’s in the character of the boys that we just don’t know when we’re beaten,” the defender said. “We’re under no illusion that it’s going to be a hard game against Exeter as they’ve got some really good players in their team.

"It’s been a good season so far but we need to go and finish it off with a win at Wembley,” he added.
