Goalkeeper Previews Play-Off Encounters
Sam Slocombe expects the Sky Bet League Two play-offs to follow the same pattern as the division above, with fine margins settling the ties.
The goalkeeper, having watched the League One semi-finals reach a conclusion on the weekend, is predicting tight two-legged affairs between Blackpool and Luton Town, as well as Carlisle United and Exeter City.
"It's going to be a tight game, but when you're in the play-offs you're expecting tight games because you're playing the other top teams in the league that haven't gained promotion," Slocombe admitted.
"We're happy to be here and we're happy to have that challenge put in front of us. Hopefully we can really focus on it and come through the other side."
The Seasiders start the play-offs at home on Sunday before travelling to Kenilworth Road four days later, though nothing much can be read into the order of legs.
"I don't think it matters that much, the main thing, the really important thing is that after the first tie you make sure you're still in the game," the goalkeeper said. "If you have an opportunity after the first game to take it into a one-game shoot-off, you're very happy and it gives you a good chance to go through to the next round.
"But you can't look any further than the next game. Granted we're at home first, but there's nothing wrong with that and we're really looking forward to a great game."
