Gary Bowyer was happy with the way Jimmy Ryan came through his return to action on Saturday and remains hopeful that Kyle Vassell could feature against Portsmouth.
Ryan managed 76 minutes of action against Boreham Wood, having previously missed three games with a hamstring problem.
"It was great for Jimmy to be back involved and that game will have done him the world of good for this weekend," the manager said.
"I didn’t want him going into this one (against Portsmouth) without any football. He came through unscathed, so that’s good."
Meanwhile, Vassell joined the squad at Boreham Wood and went through some running drills prior to the match getting underway.
"Kyle Vassell was also with us and had a run before the game. Hopefully he can now be ready for Saturday," Bowyer added.
