Jimmy Ryan says he’s getting back to where he was after recently returning from a hamstring injury.
The Seasiders’ skipper featured for 76 minutes against Boreham Wood last weekend, having previously missed three Blackpool matches.
The decision to miss those games was a sensible one, with the midfielder pulling out of a pre-match warm-up to prevent risk of further damage.
“If it goes worse then you could be out for three months. With me missing last year a bit with injuries, it wasn’t worth the risk. We made the right decision,” Ryan said.
“I’ve been back training for two weeks now and I’ve had no reaction. I feel good and I’m getting back to where I was.”
Ryan is one of a number of players back in contention for the league match against Portsmouth on Saturday, with others set to follow further down the line.
“It’s disappointing getting injuries but every team is going to have injuries through the season. Hopefully we’ve had our little spell of injuries and we can push on now through the Christmas period with a clean fitness room,” he added.
