Jay Spearing says Blackpool can quickly rectify recent results by cutting out mistakes of their own making.
The midfielder, speaking ahead of facing Peterborough United tomorrow, insists confidence remains high in the squad, especially with the attacking capabilities in the side.
“If you look back at the goals, we’re the ones making the mistakes and giving the goals away. From my point of view, we can fix that. We know that we’ll create chances, we’ve just got to tighten up at the back,” Spearing said.
“If you lose games, people seem to go quiet and lose confidence but that hasn’t happened with this group.
“We know that we’re playing the way that we want to play, we’re playing some really good stuff and we’re creating chances.
“We know that it’s our own mistakes so as long as we tighten up and work hard on the training ground, then we’ll improve and results will start to go our way.”
A positive result at Peterborough would end a run of three league matches without a point for Blackpool, and that is the only focus amongst the group.
“Every single lad in that dressing room is working hard ready for Saturday. We want the three points and if we don’t get the three points, the least we come away with is a point. We kick on and go from there,” Spearing added.
