Andy Todd insists the door will be open for a number of players to step up and impress against Northampton Town tomorrow.
The Seasiders will be without Clark Robertson, Kyle Vassell and Mark Cullen for the fixture, though skipper Jimmy Ryan is hopeful of a return to the side.
Given that specific players have waited patiently for regular action this season, an ideal opportunity has now presented itself to stake a claim.
“Injuries and suspensions come along and it opens the door for other players. Hopefully they’ll take their chance come Saturday,” Todd said.
“It’s something we do ram home to the players. We know they’re a little bit disappointed they’re not in the team – we can only pick 11 – but injuries and suspensions come along all the time, and they have to make sure they are ready because their chance will come. It will come for one or two of them on Saturday.”
Blackpool head into the match on the back of a disappointing defeat to Wigan Athletic last time out, so the right response will be sought.
“It’s all about how we react from Saturday’s game. That has gone now and we look forward to the challenge at Northampton. We’ll be going there to win the game,” Todd added.
