Fixture | Blackpool vs AFC Wimbledon – Date | 2 September 2017 – Venue | Bloomfield Road
Blackpool return to Sky Bet League One action with their third home game inside a week, as AFC Wimbledon visit Bloomfield Road.
The meeting will be the first ever between the teams, given The Dons formation in 2002 and the divisional differences since.
Gary Bowyer's side will be aiming to keep up their 100 per cent start to the league campaign on home soil, having recorded victories against MK Dons and Oldham Athletic.
Neal Ardley's team finished 15th in the division last season, following promotion, and head on the road in search of their first three away points of the campaign.
Last Time Out:
Prior to league action taking a break for the Checkatrade Trophy, Blackpool put in a highly-impressive first-half performance to end up recording a 2-1 win against Oldham. Manager Gary Bowyer will be keen for improvement across the 90 minutes, however.
The visitors, having beaten Barnet in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night, picked up their first win of the League One campaign with a 2-0 win against Doncaster Rovers last weekend.
Mark Cullen (hamstring) and Jim McAlister (fractured tibia) remain the only injury absentees for manager Gary Bowyer, though the latter is making steady progress.
A run out for several other members of the squad in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night has reinforced the competition for a place in the side, with Kelvin Mellor returning from injury to play his first 90 minutes of the season.
Tom Soares has returned to full training for AFC Wimbledon, however this game may come too soon. Harry Forrester, who signed on loan from Rangers last week, could be set for his first league start.
