Kyle Vassell is relishing the opportunity of coming up against Scunthorpe United this weekend, given the way that The Seasiders are performing.
The striker, who has featured in four of Blackpool’s opening five Sky Bet League One fixtures, says the test that awaits at Glanford Park is one that should be fully embraced.
“It’s going to be our biggest test. They’ll be the best team we’ve played so far, and I’m excited,” the 24-year-old admitted.
“The way we’re playing football, the way we’re attacking, I’m excited and I can’t wait.”
Vassell, who hit 13 goals for Blackpool last season, scored his first of the new campaign against Oldham Athletic in August and is aiming to continue the fine form he has displayed ever since arriving from Peterborough United last summer.
A firm fan favourite due to his goalscoring ability and all-round work ethic, the forward is quick to acknowledge how important his move to Bloomfield Road has been.
“I needed to get away from London and come up here, get my head down and focus on football, which I have done and I’m getting the best out of myself. I’m sure that will show over the season,” he said.
“From the second I got here and I scored a couple of goals, the arms opened and I felt loved straight away, and I still feel loved.”
