Gary Bowyer praised a magnificent response from his side, as Blackpool bounced back from recent disappointments with a 5-0 victory against Bradford City.
A fast start to the game proved key for The Seasiders, who raced into a three-goal lead inside the first half-hour thanks to Nathan Delfouneso (2) and Viv Solomon-Otabor.
Delfouneso then completed his hat-trick in the second-half, prior to Sean Longstaff wrapping up the scoring.
Speaking post-match, here's what the manager had to say...
Massive team effort.
We spoke after Oldham and there were some choice words used in the meeting on Thursday. We demanded a reaction and we demanded an intensity back of what we’ve been playing and how we’ve been playing. We just felt, as staff looking at it, that we’d probably come off it a bit. Today was a magnificent response from the players. Everyone deserves an enormous amount of credit because it was a massive team effort.
Three goals in first 30 minutes.
It was devastating and the manner of the goals as well were fantastic, and the way we played. All season we’ve spoken about the wonderful goals we’ve scored – team goals and individual goals – but we’ve not scored enough scruffy goals. But I’ve just watched them back again now, and all five were fantastic goals.
Contributions and goals from the wide players.
I felt that both of them owed us a performance – Nathan after the Doncaster game and Viv after the Oldham game. I’m just delighted that they’ve got the strength of character to response in the manner that they did.
