Match Preview: Northampton Town (H)

Rearranged Fixture Takes Place Tonight

10 April 2018

Fixture | Blackpool vs Northampton Town – Date | Tuesday 10 April – Venue | Bloomfield Road

Blackpool will aim to immediately back-up Saturday's victory against Bradford City when they host Northampton Town at Bloomfield Road this evening, kick-off 7.45pm.

The fixture, which was originally due to be played last month, also offers The Seasiders an opportunity to make amends for a disappointing defeat at Sixfields earlier this season.

The visitors, currently occupying one of the relegation positions, will have a new man in charge for the match, with Dean Austin named caretaker boss following the departure of Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.

Last Time Out:

A 5-0 win against Bradford City on the weekend proved to be Blackpool's biggest since 2016. A ruthless display from The Seasiders saw five goals scored from seven shots on target, with Nathan Delfouneso taking home the match ball after scoring his first ever hat-trick.

Northampton, meanwhile, had no fixture on Saturday due to Shrewsbury Town's participation in the Checkatrade Trophy final. The Cobblers previous outing came against Peterborough United on Easter Monday, which the side lost 2-0.

Team News:

Kelvin Mellor and Jim McAlister have returned to training to bolster Blackpool's squad options, though the fitness of Kyle Vassell will be assessed after the striker was forced off on Saturday.

Northampton captain Ash Taylor misses out due to suspension, while loan players Gboly Ariyibi and Hildeberto Pereira have returned to their parent clubs. John-Joe O'Toole is back and available for selection, however.

Blackpool Win - 7/10
Draw - 13/5
Northampton Town Win - 4/1
