Four goals from Brendan O’Brien, along with strikes from Fin Sinclair-Smith, Owen Watkinson and Emil Jaaskelainen saw the youth team record a 7-2 victory against Tranmere Rovers.
The first real action of the first-half saw Brendan O’Brien give Blackpool the lead, making it four goals in the midfielder’s last four starts.
Tom Williams then kept the hosts in the lead by stopping Bailey Thompson from levelling with a great block, before Fin Sinclair-Smith went close to doubling the lead.
Brendan O’Brien then got his, and Blackpool’s, second of the day, slotting the ball home into the far corner after it fell to his feet in the box.
Sinclair-Smith then made it 3-0, being the first to the rebound and tapping the ball into an empty net, after Owen Watkinson’s effort had come back out off the upright.
O’Brien then completed his first hat-trick for the under-18s in the 36th minute. The ball came across to the midfielder and he struck one from outside the area, flying past the ‘keeper to make it 4-0.
Just a minute later, and Tranmere got on the scoresheet. A long ball went through, with Bailey Thompson pouncing on a goalkeeping error to make it 4-1.

The second-half started like the first, with The Seasiders in complete control of the game. Rowan Roache went close with a header, before Owen Watkinson finally got his goal, ten minutes after the break. He was then replaced by Emil Jaaskelainen.
On the hour mark, O’Brien grabbed his fourth of the day with a wonderful half volley from the edge of the area, which flew past Bayleigh Passant in the Rovers net.
Jaaskelainen made it 7-1 with 20 minutes to go, tapping the ball home after it came across the box and evaded everyone else in the area. Sam Maddox then replaced Sean Graham.
With ten minutes to go, Blackpool made a double change. Ryley Smith and Ewan Bange came on for Rowan Roache and Fin Sinclair-Smith.
Tranmere got a second goal with a minute or so to go, though it wasn’t enough to affect a good result for the side.
