Youth Team Pair Up For LFE Goal of the Month Award

Sumner and O'Brien Strikes Make Shortlist

Strikes from youth team pair Dylan Sumner and Brendan O’Brien have been shortlisted for the LFE Goal of the Month award.

Sumner’s effort against Arsenal and O’Brien’s powerful drive against Rochdale join six other contenders on the list to win the award, with all the goals having been scored by apprentices in February and March.   

With the season drawing to a close, time is running out for players to book their place in the Goal of the Season reckoning alongside previous 2017-18 Goal of the Month winners Matt Mayes (Portsmouth), Caolan Boyd-Munce (Birmingham City), Ellis Chapman (Lincoln City), Jordan Doherty (Sheffield United) and Alex Hunt (Sheffield Wednesday).

The Shortlist:

  • Morgan Whittaker, DERBY COUNTY v Blackburn Rovers #LFEGOALC

  • Dennis Politic, BOLTON WANDERERS v Sheffield Wednesday #LFEGOALE
  • Jack Sparkes, EXETER CITY v Gillingham #LFEGOALF
  • Daniel O’Sullivan, WALSALL v Tranmere Rovers #LFEGOALG
  • Brendan O’Brien, BLACKPOOL v Rochdale #LFEGOALH
