Terry McPhillips was delighted to see Blackpool get firmly up and running for the season with three points against Coventry City.
Goals from Mark Cullen and Joe Dodoo saw The Seasiders, who drew two of their opening three fixtures, secure a 2-0 victory at Bloomfield Road.
Speaking post-match, here’s what Pool’s interim manager had to say…
Good all-round performance.
I’m delighted. It’s a clean sheet, two goals, lots of changes and some really good quality performances. I think we can play better, but yet again I thought second-half we stepped it up.
Seven changes and squad competition.
There’s not a lot in it. In training and watching them in games, we’ve got a lot of players fit and they’re all chomping at the bit. We’ve changed it round and we’re still trying to find what’s the best fit. It’s exciting.
Joe Dodoo off the mark for the campaign.
I thought he was good and he was a threat all night. Notts cleared it and he’s saying it was only a clearance but it’s an assist. I thought Notts stepped it up second-half and Joe was a willing runner who got his just rewards.
