Terry McPhillips has expressed his delight at being able to bring Liam Feeney to the club.
Pool’s interim manager, who worked with the winger at Blackburn Rovers, feels that the latest addition to the squad will provide real strength in attacking areas.
“He’s a very quick, strong, powerful and direct,” McPhillips said. “He runs up the pitch, puts crosses in, makes and scores goals and he runs back with the full-back.
“We know he’s a great lad, so he’s a really good signing for us. He’s been on the list for a few weeks and we’ve finally got it done.”
Though the 31-year-old was a free agent, he’s looked after himself well over the summer and McPhillips has no real qualms about his immediate availability to play.
“I think he had a couple of weeks training at Cardiff early in pre-season and then he’s just kept himself in good nick. From what I’ve seen today in training, he isn’t far off. He’ll be involved straight away,” he added.
