Donervon Daniels says Blackpool’s Boxing Day clash at Rochdale could live up to its billing, as The Seasiders must put up a fight.
The team head to Spotland on the back of consecutive league defeats and are determined to turn things around again.
“We need to go there and put up a fight. It’s a big game for us, and I’m sure it’s going to be a big game for them, being at home. They normally get a good following on Boxing Day, but we’re looking forward to it.
“Rochdale are a passing team as well, so I’m sure it will be a good game of football. When you play against Rochdale, you expect them to pass the ball, but we’ve got the players to pass it as well and match them.”
Daniels, who spent time on loan at Rochdale last season, admits that The Seasiders have probably ‘surprised’ people with the way they have performed overall so far this campaign, however the focus is on further improvement.
“We’ve surprised a lot of people. I remember when I signed in the summer and a lot of people were saying ‘Blackpool’s this and Blackpool’s that’, but we have quality. It’s obviously been frustrating the last few league games, but our quality is still there. We’ve exerted a lot of energy in each game, we just now need to pick up the results and points to match,” he added.
