Ben Heneghan says Blackpool always expected a battle at AFC Wimbledon yesterday, though The Seasiders still left frustrated.
The defender was quick to admit that the team should have made their opportunities count at Kingsmeadow, instead of being left to settle for a point.
“We always knew it was going to be a battle down here. We’re just frustrated really, we created a good few chances where we felt we should have put the ball in the back of the net. Unfortunately, it’s not happened.”
On a positive note, the clean sheet was much needed, as was stopping a run of three consecutive defeats.
“I suppose you’ve got to take the positives from that, just to get a point on the board after a little slip lately. Hopefully this can turn it back round for us,” he said.
Attentions now quickly turn to two big home fixtures against Sunderland and Arsenal, with the centre-back determined to help the side get firmly back on track.
“They’re big games. We relish any game and we just want to prove ourselves and get back to winning ways,” he added.
