Clark Robertson hailed a ‘complete away performance’ after his goal helped Blackpool secure a 2-0 victory at Portsmouth.
The defender, who was a calm and assured presence throughout the 90 minutes, notched his second of the season at Fratton Park to more or less wrap up the three points.
“I have had a few chances this season and I haven’t taken them when I maybe should have. I couldn’t really miss that one because I was unmarked. It was a great ball in from Jay and the second goal was vital,” Robertson said.
“I think it was the complete away performance, really. We were solid in defence and hit them on the counter attack. The game-plan worked, and that’s all you can ask for,” Robertson said.
The win extended Blackpool’s unbeaten run in Sky Bet League One to five matches, and Robertson admits that spirits are high ahead of next weekend’s visit of Northampton Town.
“You’re confident going onto the pitch every week now and we go into every game looking to win. We’re starting to build up a bit of momentum and hopefully we can start winning games at home to push us up the table,” he added.
