John Murphy says Blackpool’s fourth round FA Youth Cup clash against Southampton tonight will be the biggest game of the players’ lives.
The under-18s have been on a fantastic run in the competition, having knocked out Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers and West Ham United, yet the ultimate test now awaits.
“Southampton is going to be a really, really tough game. The Southampton academy has been well documented over the years because of the players they’ve brought through, and they also beat Wolves 4-1 in the last round,” Murphy said.
“The West Ham game was the biggest of the season, and now this one is. It’s a platform and opportunity for the players to show what they’re capable of. It’s the biggest game of their lives.”
The tie, which takes place at Bloomfield Road, kicks-off at 7pm and admission is priced as follows:
- £3 for Adults
- £1 for Concessions
Season ticket holders can attend for free on production of their season ticket card. Turnstiles 7 and 8 will be open in the West Stand from 6pm.
