Nathan Delfouneso’s 90th minute equaliser ensured that Blackpool drew 1-1 with AFC Fylde in the team’s latest pre-season outing.
The forward met Marc Bola’s cross from six-yards out to cancel out Danny Rowe’s opener early on.
The hosts took the lead through Rowe inside four minutes after he was given time and space to find the bottom corner from 18-yards out.
It was the hosts who continued to look a threat on the counter attack, with Blackpool unable to get the ball to stick up-top with Armand Gnanduillet. John O’Sullivan was then introduced after 16 minutes due to Ryan McLaughlin picking up a knock.
Goal opportunities were proving to be at a premium in the first-half, with Blackpool’s best effort coming in the 36th minute when Joe Dodoo’s strike was parried away by Russ Griffiths. A great bit of defending from Zaine Francis Angol then denied Gnanduillet on the rebound.
Chris Taylor and Paudie O’Connor were introduced for the second-half, replacing Gnanduillet and Thompson. It meant a switch to a 3-5-2 formation.
The change brought about more counter-attacking opportunities for Blackpool, however it was the hosts who came closest to scoring another. Ryan Croasdale met a great ball in from Joe Cardle but headed over from eight-yards out.
Joe Bunney was brought down on the edge of the box moments later, though Chris Taylor’s free-kick clipped the top of the wall.
Further Blackpool changes were made with less than 20 minutes remaining, as Harry Pritchard and Marc Bola took to the field.
In the end, it was the latter’s presence down the left that paid off as his delivery was met by Delfouneso to preserve Pool’s unbeaten pre-season.
