New loan signing Ben Heneghan Is relishing the opportunity to show what he can do at the heart of Blackpool’s defence this season.
The centre-back, who has joined the club on a season-long loan deal from Sheffield United, aims to make up for lost time where playing games is concerned.
“I’m delighted to be here and I just want to get started, really, and hopefully get some games under my belt,” he told the official website.
“I need to get back playing. Last season didn’t go well for me so I just want to prove to myself and everybody else what I’m capable of.”
Heneghan, who moved to Bramall Lane from Motherwell last summer for an undisclosed fee, has reported for pre-season training with his new team-mates and will now get the opportunity to know them better during a six-day training camp in Scotland next week.
“When you go away on a pre-season tour you’re all together for so long so I’ll mingle around and get to know everyone. It just brings the group closer,” he added.
