Recent addition Ryan McLaughlin hopes to play his part in a successful season on the field for the club.
The 23-year-old, announced as the club’s 12th signing of the summer yesterday, can’t wait to get going after missing the first few weeks of pre-season while his future was resolved.
“It’s been frustrating missing the first couple of weeks of pre-season but I’m just looking forward to getting out there now. I’ve been keeping fit by myself and keeping my fitness up to get ready for the new season,” he said.
“I’m hoping to give as much as I can to the team and push for whatever we can. I’m sure it will be a positive season and I hope to play my part.”
A move back to Sky Bet League One will hopefully also enhance McLaughlin’s international prospects, with his fourth and fifth caps for Northern Ireland coming in May and June.
“I was happy to get a couple of caps there against Costa Rica and Panama, so it was very important to play as high as I can to keep getting international call-ups. I spoke to Michael O’Neill (Northern Ireland manager) as well and he said it was a great club to go to. I’m just happy to be on board now,” he added.
