Gary Bowyer expects another entertaining encounter when Blackpool and Doncaster Rovers meet again in Sky Bet League One tomorrow.
Fixtures between the two in recent seasons have never been short of drama, with the clash earlier this season ending in a thrilling 3-3 draw.
“It’s never a dull game when we play Doncaster. We beat them here 4-2 in the early part of last season, we then went to Doncaster and beat them 1-0 with the penalty-gate saga, and then there was the wonderful game at their place that was 3-3,” the manager said.
“I’m probably putting the kiss of death on Friday’s game, but it will certainly be an entertaining game because it’s two teams that like to play the right way and have good footballers in their teams.”
Both teams have picked up their fair share of draws throughout the campaign, yet that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Blackpool have drawn 14 of their 38 fixtures to date.
“I think we’re the joint-highest in the league and you can look at that two ways. People can say that you’ve drawn a lot of games, but it also says that we’re difficult to beat. That’s a good characteristic to have.
“Obviously we want to win more games, there’s no doubt about that, but collectively we’ve all got to contribute with how we play going forward and without the ball.”
Some of those recent draws in the league have come on home soil, with The Seasiders yet to taste defeat at Bloomfield Road in 2018.
“We’re unbeaten in our last six games here, which stretches back to December. We’ve got to keep that going and really push on with that,” Bowyer added.
