Clark Robertson was pleased to pick up Blackpool’s Player of the Year award last night, in recognition of his performances this season.
The centre-back polled the most votes from supporters after a campaign in which he has played 3,420 league minutes, helped keep 15 clean sheets and scored three goals.
“I’ve been up for a few awards in the three years that I’ve been here so it’s obviously nice to win one now. I think I’ve been pretty consistent this season,” Robertson said.
“I’ve been much stronger this season, I’ve built on the last one and got better as it’s gone on.”
Robertson’s award capped off a fine evening for Blackpool’s defensive unit, with Curtis Tilt and Ollie Turton also being presented with trophies.
“Defensively we have been strong, we don’t tend to concede many goals in games and any game we’ve lost has only been by the odd goal.
“When Joe Lumley came in he strengthened it even further and I think we’ve all had a good relationship,” he added.
