Joe Dodoo was delighted to score another spectacular goal for Blackpool on Saturday, taking his overall tally to five for the season.
The on-loan Rangers man, who has reclaimed his place in the side over the past month, produced a scissor kick on the half-volley to net his fourth goal in as many matches against Burton Albion.
“It sat up perfectly for me, and the only thing I could do there was obviously go for that technique again. It went in and I was happy with it,” the 23-year-old said.
The purple patch is one that the forward is determined to try and maintain, as he aims to now cement a regular place in the team.
“I have to keep performing and I have to keep doing the right things for the team,” he admitted. “Scoring goals is the focal point at the moment, but I have to just keep working hard every day in training and in games, and obviously be valuable to the team and effective, helping the team to win.”
A change in formation for the last two matches has also resulted in Dodoo lining up alongside Armand Gnanduillet in a front two. It’s a partnership he sees plenty of potential in.
“I think we’re two physical players at the top and what we do is complement each other. We’re trying to learn as much as possible with each other because we haven’t played much together.
“Game by game we’re getting better. He’s scoring and I’m scoring, so we need to keep that form going for the team.”
