Match Preview: Exeter City (A)

Emirates FA Cup First Round Tie On Saturday

9 November 2018

Life on the road continues for Blackpool this weekend, as The Seasiders travel to Exeter City in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup.

Having picked up a victory at Gillingham in midweek, the team head to St James' Park in good spirits and will be determined to progress to the second round.

The players will no doubt look to replicate the form they've shown in the Carabao Cup this season, where a narrow defeat to Arsenal saw the club exit the competition in round four.

Exeter have started the season strongly in Sky Bet League Two and currently sit in the play-off spots. Matt Taylor's side will be looking to avenge back-to-back defeats in recent weeks, though.

Team News:

A couple of changes to the Blackpool side are to be expected, with manager Terry McPhillips monitoring how the players have recovered from a travel-heavy schedule. Armand Gnanduillet and Paudie O'Connor continue to miss out due to suspension, while Mark Howard and Donervon Daniels will once again be assessed.

Exeter are set to welcome striker Jonathan Forte back from illness, but Dean Moxey is unavailable as he serves the first match of a two-game ban.
