Donervon Daniels says the togetherness and understanding in the Blackpool squad is showing in the team’s performances and results on the pitch.
The defender, who returned to the club for a second spell this summer, is currently part of a side that has gone 11 games unbeaten in Sky Bet League, having recorded back-to-back victories in the last two matches.
Three points against Scunthorpe United last night moved the club on to 22 points with two games in hand.
“It’s another big win, a clean sheet and the boys performed well. It was a tough game in the second-half but we dug deep, as a unit, as a team and got the result that we deserved,” Daniels said.
“The work that we’ve put in, similar to the work that the gaffer and his staff put in with the front line, sees us work effortlessly on defensive shape, even with Jay in front of us. We’ve built a togetherness and an understanding and you can see it in the games. I enjoy playing with these lads.”
It’s Blackpool’s defensive solidarity that is really standing out in matches, with the game management last night particularly pleasing. Next up is a fixture against Fleetwood Town on Saturday.
“That’s eight league clean sheets for the season and we’re now looking forward to Saturday. We’ll rest up after a tough couple of days and games and look forward to progressing further,” Daniels added.
