Terry McPhillips hailed a massive win and clean sheet, as Blackpool recorded a 2-0 victory at home to AFC Wimbledon.
Having called for The Seasiders to be more ruthless in search of all three points, the manager was pleased to see goals from Curtis Tilt and Marc Bola make it 10 matches unbeaten in Sky Bet League One.
Speaking post-match, here’s what he had to say…
It was a massive win and a clean sheet. I thought we were clinical today because it was a game of few chances at either end. I thought we had the better chances, even though they were always knocking on the door. They had the big lad up front and then got bigger and bigger, so we got a bit bigger at the end as well. We countered that and it also looks like we’ve not picked up any injuries, so I’m delighted.
Third goal for Tilt.
We’ve just looked at it and it’s definitely Tilty’s. It went in off his shin, I think. It wasn’t in before he touched it so Tilty goes level now on three as a top goalscorer.
Important contributions at both ends from Bola.
Marc did ever so well. He made a brilliant tackle earlier on with some cover, as did Ollie Turton. He’s won the ball on the halfway line and drove on. He’s had a shot and smashed it in.
