Terry McPhillips couldn’t hide his disappointment and frustration following Blackpool’s 3-2 defeat at Fleetwood Town this afternoon.
The manager bemoaned The Seasiders’ start to the game and was also unhappy with a number of decisions that went against his side, as Pool’s unbeaten run came to an end.
Not at the races early on.
We’re mega disappointed, we’ve lost a derby game and it was a great atmosphere today. We weren’t really at it for 20, 25 minutes and I thought there was two obvious fouls before their two goals.
We got a goal back for 2-1 at half-time and I thought in the second-half we did better, without doing enough. Credit to them for the way they came out the blocks, but there were blatant fouls all over the pitch.
Response without reward.
We always get a response and we did respond. We did better at the end of the first-half and responded second-half. Did we do enough with that response, like we did against Bradford? No, we didn’t – after going 2-0 down against Bradford that was fantastic.
We changed the shape towards the end and I was hoping we’d play a bit more football but we didn’t really, we just kept asking questions without creating a chance. We’ll dust ourselves down now and get ready for Wednesday.
