McPhillips: Mega Disappointing

Manager Frustrated With Draw And Performance

6 October 2018

Terry McPhillips couldn’t hide his disappointment and frustration following Blackpool’s 2-2 draw at home to Rochdale.

The Seasiders surrendered a lead on both occasions against Keith Hill’s side and never really produced the level of performance seen in recent matches.

Speaking post-match, here’s what the manager had to say…

Paid for mistakes.

I’m mega disappointed personally, as are the staff and players in there. We should have won, it’s as simple as that. We should have done enough to score the third goal but we didn’t. We’ve paid for our mistakes today. Ben’s man has scored two and Ben is as honest as the day is long. That’s football and we should have been better than that. We’ve drawn and it feels like a loss.

Sub standard.

We were poor all game for me. We did better in the second-half but as poor as we were, we still should have won the game. First-half was nowhere near.

Goals for Thompson and Tilt.

Jordan has been threatening that, though I’m surprised it was with his head. Tilty has scored as well so those were positives, but we just didn’t do enough today.
