Blackpool's participation in the Lancashire Senior Cup was brought to an abrupt end this lunchtime, as Blackburn Rovers ran out 6-0 winners.
Rovers found themselves two goals to the good inside eight minutes, with an own goal and strike from John Buckley putting the team in a commanding position.
Blackpool tried to pull one back through Joe Dodoo, however he was denied by a smart save from the Blackburn 'keeper.
Joe Grayson, son of former Blackpool manager Simon Grayson, then increased Rovers' advantage further from the penalty spot.
Jack Vale found the bottom corner to make it four in the second-half, before Okera Simmonds' free-kick took a wicked deflection for a fifth goal.
Rovers then hit the post with another penalty, this time taken by Butterworth, prior to Jack Evans heading home a sixth to round off a comprehensive victory.
