Manager Terry McPhillips has revealed that captain Jimmy Ryan is set for a prolonged spell on the sidelines.
The midfielder, 30, has been blighted by a knee injury since the final game of last season and now requires an operation.
“Jimmy’s going to go under the knife now and we’re all disappointed for him,” McPhillips said. “We expect him to be out for a few months or so. It’s a big miss for us, but that’s football.
“We wish Jimmy all the best, he’s the club captain and a superb lad. We wish him all the best with his rehab.”
