Nathan Shaw and Ewan Bange were both on target for the youth team on Saturday, however the under-18s still fell to a 5-3 loss against Rochdale.
The Seasiders went behind twice as Yonsian scored a brace to put Rochdale ahead, before Shaw levelled things up by scoring two goals of his own.
Then, a flurry of goals and a hat-trick from Tavares for Dale put them way ahead, prior to Ewan Bange hitting a consolation goal, minutes from full-time.
It didn’t take long for the first goal of the game to be scored. Yonsian was denied from close range by Harvey Simson, but then rounded the keeper and slotted into the back of the net.
Ten minutes later, Rochdale and Yonsian had their second. Hoti’s took aim and shot, but that was saved by Simson, but there on the follow up was Yonsian who struck past him.
Blackpool then pulled a goal back. Ewan Bange played a great through ball for Nathan Shaw to latch on to, he shot and fired past the Rochdale keeper.
The Seasiders then nearly drew level. Harry Winstanley played a great ball out to Sean Graham, he took the full-back on and crossed towards Shaw, he shot but that was deflected onto the bar.
Half-Time: Rochdale 2 Blackpool 1
Not long after the break, Blackpool grabbed an equaliser. A hand ball from the Rochdale defence resulted in a penalty being awarded. Shaw stepped up and slotted home for his and Blackpool’s second of the game.
In the final 20 minutes, the home side took control. Good play between Bradley and Tavares resulted in the latter picking up the ball and getting a shot away that beat Simson and hit the back of the net.
Five minutes later, Tavares added his second. Bradley and Tavares combined again. This time Bradley’s shot was parried into Tavares’ path who slotted home.
Then, the 15-minute hat-trick was complete. A loose ball landed at the feet of Tavares and in excellent fashion he back-heeled the ball into the net.
There wasn’t much of a way back into the game for Blackpool with only a few minutes left, but Bange grabbed a consolation with a header from 12-yards out.
