Nathan Delfouneso was delighted to open his account for the season with two goals against Southend United.
The forward hit a first-half brace in Blackpool’s 3-1 victory at Roots Hall and is determined to maintain his positive start to the campaign.
“It was great to get the two goals and help us get the three points,” he said. “You always want to start as you mean to go on.
“I’ve always said that I’ve got confidence in my ability and things went well for me in the match. I’ve now got to continue that and keep working hard and putting in the performances.”
Delfouneso’s first goal came courtesy of a superb assist from Sullay Kaikai, with the pair appearing to be on the same wavelength in games.
“I’m really enjoying playing with him at the minute. You can see the quality that he brings to the team and we’re linking up very well. Hopefully the team benefits from it and we can keep getting better and stronger as the season goes on,” Delfouneso added.
