Simon Grayson hopes that the Blackpool fans create another sensational atmosphere at Bloomfield Road tomorrow.
The manager was full of praise for the noise in the stadium when Bristol Rovers came to town on the opening day of the season, and he’d love to see it replicated for the visit of Oxford United.
“If we can create an atmosphere like we did in the first home game and play as well as we have done, then we’re not going to be far away from trying to win the match,” Grayson insisted.
“We want people to come back through the doors and make the noise that they did. We know that we’ve got a duty to try and entertain them and win the match, and we’ll do whatever we can to try and maintain the start that we’ve had so far.”
The opposition, guided by Karl Robinson, have made an unbeaten start to the season and picked up four points from a possible six in Sky Bet League One.
“We’re wary of every team that we’re going to play. You can’t take anybody for granted in any football match that you’re involved in,” the manager said.
“Karl knows the division and he’s got a group of players there that have started the season brightly. They’ve got some positives with the results that they’ve had.
“We’re going to do what we normally do, focus on their weaknesses and try and use our strengths to go and win a football match.”
In terms of the line-up, the manager Is set to make a late call on the involvement of one or two, including skipper Jay Spearing.
“We picked up a couple of knocks the other night and we’ll give them every opportunity to be fit for the weekend. Hopefully we can try and pick a similar sort of team. If not, then other people will come into the team to try and win the football match,” he added.
