Jordan Thompson was disappointed not to see Blackpool’s dominance rewarded with all three points against Rochdale.
The Seasiders were left to settle for a point at Spotland after watching Dale ‘keeper Robert Sanchez put in a Man of the Match performance.
“They had a wee spell in the first-half where they troubled us a bit and knocked the ball about quite well, but I think we dominated the game and created a lot of chances, especially the one at the end,” Thompson said.
The late chance the Northern Ireland international eludes to came from a James Husband cross that deflected past the keeper and onto the post.
“Everybody just froze by the looks of it. I was in there myself and I don’t know what happened, it just went across the line. On a different day it would have gone in the back of the net.
“We’re just a bit disappointed that we didn’t get the result we wanted, but obviously it’s a point picked up away from home again.”
That point retained Blackpool’s unbeaten start to the season and moved the side on to 11 points from five matches.
“We’ve started well and that’s always a positive. The fans have been brilliant and backed us. We just wanted to get the result for them at Rochdale. They’ve probably gone away happy enough though because the performance was good,” Thompson insisted.
