Simon Grayson is expecting another tough test in the visit of in-form Accrington Stanley on Boxing Day.
John Coleman’s side are fresh on the back of a five game unbeaten run stretching back to mid-November heading into Boxing Day and have picked up some emphatic victories on the way.
“Accrington are a dangerous side and have some good individual players,” Grayson said.
“They had a great result in beating Portsmouth 4-1 a couple of weeks ago and then picked up a good draw at Doncaster last weekend, which is always a difficult place to go. You know what you’re going to get with John Coleman and his side – they play well, play a good 4-4-2 formation, and move the ball around really well.
“It was a tough game at their place earlier on in the season, where we were able to snatch a last minute goal to get the draw, so we’re expecting another tough test on Boxing Day.
“We’ve got some stuff to work on following the Shrewsbury game and I’m sure it will be a bouncing Bloomfield Road on the day to push us on.”
