The youth team ran out 3-1 winners against Carlisle United in their final North West Youth Alliance game before the Christmas break.
Goals from Rob Apter, Hayden Ravenscroft and Tony Weston secured the three points for Danny Ventre's side, who bounced back from defeat to Shrewsbury last time out.
The opening goal came inside the first minutes. Fresh from winning the LFE Online Goal of the Month for November, Rob Apter hit a stunning strike that may well be worthy of a nomination for December.
Carlisle then levelled matters just before the break, leaving it all to play for in the second-half.
Hayden Ravenscroft was then introduced for Blackpool and it didn’t take long for him to have an impact on the game. His back-post header was initially saved by the Carlisle ‘keeper, however the ball bounced back into his path to tap-in from six-yards-out.
With confidence now flowing for the hosts, Tony Weston added a third. Back playing with the under-18s from first-team duty, the young striker picked the ball up 25-yards-out, took a touch inside his man and unleashed a strike towards goal which flew past the Carlisle ‘keeper.
The victory sees the youth team finish the year strongly going into the Christmas break – with fixtures set to resume week commencing 6 January 2020.
