Andy Kanga hit two goals for the youth team on Saturday, as the under-18s recorded a 4-2 victory away at Walsall.
It was Kanga who opened the scoring after just 10 minutes, heading home a cross from Emil Jaaskelainen to get Danny Ventre’s side off to the best possible start.
Just prior to the half-hour mark, Ewan Bange doubled The Seasiders’ advantage by converting a cross from Will McGladdery.
Having created the first goal, Jasskelainen then added his name to the score-sheet with a free-kick, putting Blackpool 3-0 up at the interval.
After the restart, the under-18s made it four. Andy Kanga was first to react after Sean Graham had hit the post, firing in on the rebound to score his second of the game.
The home side pulled a goal back just after the hour mark, and that was soon followed by Blackpool being reduced to 10 men. Tom Williams was dismissed for his part in a melee.
Sam Maddox replaced Andy Kanga as the team looked to stay compact with the man disadvantage, however Walsall reduced the deficit further with their second of the game 16 minutes from time.
It meant a nervier finish than expected, yet the under-18s did enough to see the result out and return to Blackpool with all three points.
