Chris Long is relishing the opportunity that has presented itself at Blackpool, as he looks to get back to playing football again.
The striker, 23, is determined to prove his doubters wrong and fire The Seasiders up the league table.
“I can’t wait to get going. I just want to play football and score loads of goals for this club,” he said.
“Football is about proving people wrong and that’s what I’ve got to do here. The main thing is to enjoy my football, score goals and show what I’m about.”
Having last appeared competitively in November, Long acknowledges the need to fight his way into the starting XI.
“It’s a new challenge to get in the team first and that’s what I’m going to have to do, work hard to try and get myself in the team.
“When I do get my chance, I’ve got to work so hard to keep myself in the team. I’ll have to fight my way into the team because I haven’t been playing football, but I’ll work so hard to stay in that team once I’m in.”
Allocated the number 31 shirt, he could make his debut away at Portsmouth tomorrow, a side he scored three goals against last season.
