Match Preview: Portsmouth (A)

Seasiders Travel To Fratton Park

11 January 2019

Blackpool will hope the addition of a couple of fresh faces will inject fresh impetus into the squad at Portsmouth this weekend.

Nya Kirby and Chris Long have both arrived at the club this week to bolster a squad that has been hit by injuries in recent weeks and gone five matches without a league win.

The Seasiders face divisional leaders Portsmouth, who have won four consecutive games in all competitions.

Team News:

Nya Kirby and Chris Long are eligible to make debuts, while Ben Heneghan and Jordan Thompson return from illness and suspension, respectively. Curtis Tilt and Ollie Turton are edging closer to returns, though 'keeper Mark Howard has joined Jimmy Ryan, Mark Cullen, Joe Dodoo and Max Clayton on the sidelines. Christoffer Mafoumbi is set to deputise in goal.

The hosts will be without striker Oli Hawkins, who continues to be troubled by a calf problem. Full-backs Nathan Thompson and Lee Brown are also missing with hamstring injuries.
