Blackpool Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of Ryan Hardie for an undisclosed fee from Rangers, subject to international clearance.
The striker, who has represented Scotland at under-21 level, has agreed an initial two-year contract at Bloomfield Road, with the option of a further year.
Born in Stranraer, Hardie came through the youth ranks at Rangers and scored two goals in 17 games for the first-team.
While on the books at Ibrox, the 22-year-old also spent time out on loan with Raith Rovers, St Mirren and Livingston, achieving promotion with the latter and hitting 16 goals in 39 appearances over an 18-month period.
By signing for Blackpool, Hardie becomes the sixth new player to arrive at the club this summer.
On joining, Ryan Hardie said:
“It’s exciting times and I’m looking forward to hopefully pushing the club up the table and seeing how far we can go. It’s a new challenge coming down here and it’s obviously going to be different playing conditions, a different way to play and a different style of play. I’m looking forward to challenging myself and seeing how I deal with it.”
Manager Simon Grayson added:
“The club has been monitoring Ryan’s progress for some time and having watched plenty of footage and spoken to fellow coaches and players about him, he’s going to be a good addition who strengthens our attacking options. We’re getting him at the right age and have beaten some competition for his signature.”
