Nathan Delfouneso says the announcement of Blackpool’s new sponsorship deal is a ‘sign’ of where the club is heading.
The forward was in attendance at Blackpool Tower to help promote the launch, which will see the logos of VisitBlackpool and local mental health campaign GET VOCAL adorn the front of the club’s 2019/20 home and away shirts, respectively.
“A launch and an announcement like this is a sign of where the club is going,” Delfouneso insisted. “All I can see is positive things and hopefully we can use that and really unite with the fans and have a really good season.
"This club is massive to the community. We're all together now and this partnership shows how everybody is involved.
“The mental health aspect of the partnership is also very important. When it comes to males, we think we’ve got to be strong and be protectors. You always think about others and not the actual issues you’re going through. You bottle it all up a little bit. It's good that there are things in place and people to talk to.”
While the actual shirts for the 2019/20 campaign are yet to be revealed, things are progressing well both on-and-off the pitch ahead of the big kick-off in August.
“I think you can see that from the season ticket sales at the moment, which are going really well,” said Delfouneso, who recently agreed a new contract at Bloomfield Road.
“We’re dedicated to push on as a team and really step up into those top six places, at least. I have faith in the team and the squad that we’ve still got because we’ve got a good core of the squad still. Hopefully we can really push on this season,” he added.
